Red Tent Healing Circle @ Shakti in the Mountains
Feb 16 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Your lantern is lit and your journey into the woods begins. As you walk deeper into the night, you see glowing lights, hear laughter and drumming, and feel an energy pulling you closer and closer. There is a sense of homecoming. You have made your way to the Red Tent.

Long ago, women had a place to go. A place to be with other women, to share wisdom, to heal, and ultimately, to empower one another. This space was sacred. This space was the Red Tent.

In honor of this ancient tradition, Shakti in the Mountains is offering a new service called, the Red Tent Healing Circle. Our goal is to create a sacred place where you are welcomed, encouraged and held while you share your story, speak your truth and honor your path.

During the Red Tent Healing Circle, you will experience ritual, have opportunities to create, and be encouraged to listen to your intuition. This circle is confidential and is for women who are able to give and to receive compassion, understanding and empathy.

In respect for this journey, we ask that no one walk in late. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to give yourself time to settle into the space.

Cost is $25 per circle. Circles are held on the third Sunday and are three hours.
Registration is needed. Register at http://bit.ly/F19RedTentHC

This circle is co-facilitated by Jennifer Hill and Kim Bushore-Maki.

Jennifer Hill

Jennifer Hill is a New Jersey transplant who loves to cook, who attempts to keep houseplants alive, and who has a love of farm animals, especially cows and goats. She also has a fondness of crystals that goes back to childhood. Check out her crystal page at Mountain Moon Crystals.

Jennifer has a passion for painting and loves to watch the canvas come to life. She also enjoys holding space with like-minded people and working with others for a better tomorrow.

Brain Change: Using Mindfulness and Movement to Build Resilience @ Shakti in the Mountains
Feb 20 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Over the last decade, brain science has grown exponentially with lots of new information about how our brains work and respond to our environment. This new information has many applications: giving us tools to manage anxiety, create a growth mindset and heal from trauma.

All this information may leave you feeling overwhelmed and wondering if you need a degree in neuroscience to understand how this information can help you. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a primer: a class that simplifies the science and gives you tools (and the time to practice them) so you can immediately start benefiting from the science?

Look no further. In Brain Change, you will discover:

  • why your brain is geared toward negativity and how to compensate for the bias
  • how your brain responds to trauma and how to recover from it
  • why humans are social animals and how to leverage our innate need for connection
  • how to cultivate more compassion and empathy for self and others, and why this matters
  • how to increase our attention and create more mental space to manage our constantly changing world

This six-week course is for anyone who wants to decrease their suffering and is ready to cultivate more mental peace and emotional intelligence.

The class is co-ed.

Brain Change: Using Mindfulness and Movement to Build Resilience @ Shakti in the Mountains
Mar 12 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Restorative Yoga @ Shakti in the Mountains
Jul 27 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Easing discomfort and pain and finding a new relationship with their body are just some of the benefits the women have experienced from this Restorative Yoga class.

Our bodies are miraculous, and when they are good in working condition, we can do all sorts of marvelous things.

But sometimes our bodies challenge us: give us projects to work on in the form of dis-ease and pain. These challenges often make us feel irritable, sad, scared and lonely.

Restorative Yoga is designed to help you find a way out of this quagmire and create a different relationship with your body.

In this class, you will learn:

  • yoga poses that best support you
  • the qualities of the 7 major chakras and how to use those energies to heal
  • to connect with your wise self and listen to the wisdom of your body

Class is on Mondays. See event calendar for more details.
This class is for women only. Limit 12.

$15 Drop-In or $40/month for a monthly Yoga Pass. To purchase your Yoga Pass click here or the purple tickets button.
