For the past year, Caro Dellenbaugh has guided a Poetry Dive: an opportunity to listen to, to write, and to share poems. The experience has been so rewarding – in more ways than I could have anticipated. Not only have I met wonderful, new people, I have been touched deeply by the shares and held lovingly as I shared.

We have two more Poetry Dives scheduled for the year: September 3 at 10 am ET and September 16 at 8:30 am ET. The online Poetry Dives are always free but you do need to register in order to receive the Zoom invitation to join. After the 16th, Caro is taking a hiatus during which I wish her much adventure, love, and joy.

Thank you so much, Caro, for offering this service to our community and showing us the power of words to open and to move the heart. I am so grateful to you.

In honor of Caro and all the folks who participated, I offer this poem I wrote during a recent Poetry Dive.

Wishing everyone a beautiful week.

Kim Bushore-Maki

When I choose to
go for a walk,
float in a lake,
sit under a tree,
I am able to share.

When I choose to
create with my hands,
read a good book,
take a nap,
I am able to share.

When I choose to
turn off my phone,
wait to respond,
say no to an invitation,
I am able to share.

I am able to share…

Something beautiful –
My ability to touch what is good in you.
